Rick Ward
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ward is a consultant and a highly respected professional in his field. He holds a Master's Degree in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He is a Certified Protection Professional and is Certified in Homeland Security at Level IV (of V). Mr. Ward has attended scores of civilian law enforcement schools such as robbery, burglary, death, hypnosis, crime scene, and fingerprint investigations, to name only a few. He is a 1992 graduate of the prestigious Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) National Academy. He has attended seminars with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DITRA) in Nuclear Weapon Proliferation and Chemical, Biological, Nuclear, and Radiological training. He has completed course work in Emergency Management, National Incident Management System (NIMS), and the National Incident Reporting System (NICS) through the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA).
Mr. Ward retired from the United States Navy in 2005 as a Lieutenant Commander in the Security Field after 20 active and 9 reserve years. In addition, he has 14 years experience from patrolman to investigator to upper management in civilian law enforcement agencies. He is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, FBI National Academy Associates, International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the American College of Forensic Examiner's Institute. He is an accomplished author and has written articles including cover stories in Police Marksman, Law and Order, and the Navy's Sentry Magazine.
During his Naval Career, Mr. Ward served as Assistant Security Officer ashore, Security Officer ashore, Security Officer afloat, Force Protection Officer for Counter Drug Operations, Regional Security Officer on a regional staff, and Deputy Program Manager for Antiterrorism and Force Protection on a major staff. During his tenure, in addition to other awards, Mr. Ward earned 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 3 Navy Commendation Medals, and 4 Navy Achievement Medals. His immediate past employment was with a major defense research firm where he held the position of Research Scientist.
